What it measures
The 33-item Schutte self-report emotional intelligence scale — perceiving, using, and managing emotions.
Schutte, N. S., et al. (1998). Development and validation of a measure of emotional intelligence. Personality and Individual Differences, 25(2), 167–177.
Validity & honesty
Self-report EQ measures how you see your own emotional skills, which only partly overlaps with tested emotional ability. Norms come from the 1998 development sample (n=346), not a representative population.
Cadence: a retake every 30 days is advised. You can retake anytime — early retakes are scored normally and flagged in trend analysis.
